How To…Make Material Boards that Pop!

Material Boards are a unique art, but these stunning examples make it look easy! By combining a palette of rich materials, Bruno Lavedan is making gorgeous digital material boards for clients that bring even more magic than conventional ones.

Notice how Lavedan overlays his palette with only a few objects for scale, and the composition comes to life. He purposefully uses the larger white space around the image to make it pop. For his formal geometry he uses a grid and orthogonal layout to make the board feel more organized. However, in the more radial Board, the feeling is light, airy, and casual. Both are simply beautiful and informative.
