Andrea Tru is a bright young interior design student and future star. Not only do we love her designs, we love that she uses her platform to connect designers, share her experience and grow alongside her community. Tune in to see how she uses Board and get her VERY fresh perspective on design.

How do you begin the design process?

Normally my design process begins with an idea, which I then develop through research, brainstorming, moodboards and sketches. For me, this initial phase of the design process is the most important part of my design process. Without a concept defined, it’s easy to get lost in the process

Is there a most important tip, trick or piece of advice that someone shared with you along your journey?

Yes, I was told that if I ever got lost during the design process, I should return to the first idea, because it’s often the right one.

What is your favorite tool/feature in Board and why?

It’s hard to pick one because I use various tools collectively during my process but I probably love the library, which contains a number of items that I would probably never find otherwise. For me, having a library of chairs where I can browse to use for projects or simply for inspiration is a unique feature in Board.
